Savvas myView is the district adopted ELA curriculum for K-5 and is being implemented in the fall of 2024. myView includes scaffolds and recommended activities for English Learners in all of its lessons.
Additionally, teachers can access the Language Awareness Handbook online using their Savvas Realize password. The Language Awareness Handbook is found in the "Guides and Manuals" tab. It includes additional scaffolds and supports for each unit, routines and activities to support reading and language skills, and mini writing lessons organized by genre.
Savvas miVisión is available for teachers teaching in Spanish bilingual programs.

Get Ready! + Get Reading Sail is a supplemental ELD curriculum designed for Recently Arrived English Learners (RAELs/newcomers) in grades 1-3. It teaches basic English and cross-curricular connections to core content areas with an emphasis on oral English skills. The “Get Reading” books correlate to the Get Ready! chapters. Each “Get Reading” book is available in three levels of difficulty.
All of the materials are available online through the VHL platform and in print.

Amplify is the district adopted ELA curriculum for grades 6-8 and is being implemented in the fall of 2024. Amplify's online platform includes built-in scaffolds intended primarily for intermediate and advanced proficiency English Learners in all lessons.
Additionally, APS teachers have access to the Amplify ELD California Pilot program, which includes more vocabulary activities and visuals, scaffolded speaking activities, text previewing lessons, adapted passages, and increased peer collaboration.
The Bridges to Literature and Content curricula are designed for intermediate English Learners. There are three levels–A, B, and C, which correspond to grades 6, 7, and 8. Each unit is organized around a theme and includes activities to practice reading, writing, oral language, vocabulary, and grammar, and includes sections with connections to ELA, science, social studies, technology, and media.

Get Ready! + Get Reading is a supplemental curriculum is designed for recently arrived English Learners (RAELs/newcomers) in middle school. It teaches basic English and cross-curricular connections to core content areas with an emphasis on oral English skills. The Get Reading books correlate to the Get Ready! chapters. Each Get Reading book is available in three levels of difficulty.

Odell is the district adopted ELA curriculum for high school and was implemented in fall 2023. Many of Odell's lessons include considerations for English Learners and the Literacy Toolbox includes many tools and graphic organizers that are useful to English Learners, as well as Spanish versions of the tools.
Though there is no component designed specifically for ELD classes, teachers may scaffold Odell materials for use with English Learners, particularly those students who are at intermediate and advanced proficiency.
Get Ready! + Get Reading 9-12 is a supplemental curriculum designed for Recently Arrived English Learners (RAELs/newcomers) in high school. It teaches basic English and cross-curricular connections to core content areas with an emphasis on oral English skills. The Get Reading books correlate to the Get Ready! chapters. Get Ready! is designed specifically for Newcomers and students at the very beginning levels of proficiency. This curriculum is not intended for all English Learners. Teachers should utilize the assessment resources provided by VHL, along with ACCESS 2.0 scores and the WIDA Can Do Key Use Descriptors to determine the appropriateness of this resource for a particular student.
No. Designated ELD should be delivered to students at grade level, following grade-level Common Core State Standards and English Language Development Standards. While the Get Ready! curriculum provides lessons to support ELs at the beginning stages of English proficiency, teachers should view this resource as supplemental to their core curriculum, scaffolding and providing support to students based on levels of English proficiency.
The two levels are identical in content. Vista Higher Learning differentiates between the two curriculums with the images and graphics that are included within to most accurately reflect the student audience that each curriculum targets. Please remember that the curriculum is intended to support students as they emerge in their English proficiency. If used consistently, students should not engage in this curriculum year after year, but instead interact with the lessons for a a necessary period to gain foundational skills in the English language.

Yes. Printed Bridges materials were delivered in July 2022 and printed Get Ready! (6-8 & 9-12) were delivered to school sites in July of 2021. Please reach out to your site librarian for access to your site's resources.
Get Ready! Sail & Soar have not been delivered to school sites. To request Sail and Soar materials, please email Angela Artiaga (artiaga_ang@aps.edu) at Library Services.
The ELD Libraries were delivered to schools in Fall of 2019 and Summer of 2021. The titles below are from the Summer 2021 collections. At this time, LCE cannot replenish these collections.
