Layer I English Language Arts
For all middle school students (with the exception of those that take the alternate assessment), the Layer I 6-8 English Language Arts program in the Albuquerque Public Schools is:

This program will be used through: School Year 2029-2030
This program includes teacher materials and student consumables. Online access is available for both students and teachers through Classlink.

Data Conferences with Students: A resource for beginning conversations with students about their learning data.
Facilitating Discussions with Polls: A Grade 6 example of using polls to support discussion and participation.
Skill Modules: An overview of the skill module experience and how it fits within instruction.
Writing Across a Unit: Planning Guide: Planning support for making writing instruction visible across a unit.
Write an Essay sub-units: Skills Progression: A progression reference for essay-writing skills.
Writing across core units: Grade 6, Grade 7, and Grade 8: Grade specific planning references.
Important information: these programs were replaced by Amplify in School Year 2024-2025.
