Teacher Professional Development - LETRS 3rd Edition
The K-5 Structured Literacy Professional Development used in the Albuquerque Public Schools is:
LETRS 3rd Edition (published by Lexia) by Dr. Louisa C. Moats & Dr. Carol A. Tolman (2019)
This training is for K-5 general education teachers, K-5 special education teachers, K-5 bilingual education teachers, K-5 gifted teachers, reading & math interventionists, resource teachers, transformational/instructional coaches, and any teacher who utilizes literacy and language skills in K-5 or K-8 schools.
Currently, the only roles exempt from LETRS training are P.E. coaches, music/art teachers, counselors, computer/technology teachers, and librarians. Because Common Core ELA standards are aligned to the performance expectations in the NextGen Science Standards, STEM/STEAM resource teachers should also take LETRS training.

This professional learning includes two sprial-bound, purple manuals (Volume 1 & Volume 2) and an online license with letrs.com. These materials are only provided upon registration into the professional learning.
**Please note that prior to LETRS, all LETRS participants must take the NMPED Canvas Course "Structured Literacy and Dyslexia for Diverse Learners 2.0"**
