Science

Students will be using an integrated curriculum during middle school.   This lab-based 6th grade science course will be covering the following disciplinary core ideas in science this year: 

•  States of Matter  

•  Particles and Waves  

•  Temperature and Thermal Energy Transfer  

•  Water Cycling, Weather, and Climate  

•  Rock Cycling and Plate Tectonics  

•  Natural Hazards  

•  Solar Systems and Earth

Students will be using an integrated curriculum during middle school.   This lab-based 7th grade science course will be covering the following disciplinary core ideas in science this year: 

•  Organism Growth, Cells, and Systems 

•  Genetics and Heredity

•  Fossils and Evolution

•  Diversity of Living Things – From Viruses to Mammals

•  Animal Behaviors in Populations and Communities

•  Ecosystems: Cycles of Matter and Energy

•  Ecosystems: Interaction/Competition/Biomes

•  Earth's Resources
