Ms. Magali Rutschman
Ms. Magali Rutschman
This is my 8th year of teaching, 6 of them here at Rio and I love it. For me, working with clay is healing to the soul. I'm passionate about art as a way to express yourself and discovering who you are and who you are to become. I enjoy working with mediums/techniques including ceramics, painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, wire work, embroidery and jewelry making. I love to teach and connect with my students and the community.
A little background: I was born Albuquerque but I grew up in Las Vegas, NM. Having come from a tight-knit community, Rio feels just like home.
I graduated from The University of New Mexico with a BFA in Painting and a BA in French. I received my teaching certificate from NM Highlands University. I am currently pursuing National Board Certification for Professional Teaching Standards in order to challenge myself to be the best teacher I can be.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, gardening, making art, being outdoors, going to the gym, and watching movies.
