Capstone Overview

What is a Capstone?

The Capstone is a culminating project that provides a way for students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they acquired during their secondary school years of education. High school students are asked to demonstrate their ability to apply key knowledge and skills by planning, completing and presenting a culminating project linked to one or more areas of personal interest.  Utilize the Senior Website links in the left hand corner of this home page to find  a project overview,  description of the different options available, and a step by step process to complete your Senior Capstone Experience.

Senior Capstone Overview

The focus of the South Windsor High School Capstone is to engage each student in a personalized learning experience. The project allows students the opportunity to apply and demonstrate interdisciplinary skills and knowledge while investigating a specialized area of interest that is supported by an adult adviser.

Guiding Principle

The Capstone process is relevant and meaningful. Most of the requirements in the Capstone Project involve student reflection on strengths and weaknesses of academic knowledge and skills, social responsibility, civic engagement, and personal integrity.
