Senior Capstone Experience

Class of 2024

What is a Capstone?

The Capstone is a culminating project that provides a way for students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they acquired during their secondary school years of education. High school students are asked to demonstrate their ability to apply key knowledge and skills by planning, completing and presenting a culminating project linked to one or more areas of personal interest.

INFORMATION AND REMINDERS

Selecting a Faculty Adviser

The adviser for your project is one of the most important assets to utilize navigating through the capstone experience.  They will serve as a mentor to run ideas through, a resource to help you complete the requirements and the person that will check off your written work.  It is helpful you select someone that you can connect with or has some expertise in the area of your experience.

Current Juniors may begin reaching out to faculty members to ask them to be their capstone adviser for the 2023-24 school year.  Juniors can contact teachers in person, using email, or google classroom, to request that they serve as their adviser.  Please remember that most certified staff members are available to serve as Capstone advisers, but can only accept 1-5 students on a first come, first serve basis.  Advisers will submit a google form that will notify the Capstone team who your adviser will be.  Students will have until April 6th to request an adviser.  If a student has not selected an adviser by that date, one will be assigned to the student.

Groups are limited to 2 students  and both students must share the same adviser.  While students may be working in a group, each person is responsible for submitting their own authentic  written work.
