A school-based team is a core group of staff within a school who meet to problem solve, make suggestions, and plan interventions for students who are struggling with any aspect of their education. The school-based team includes a small group of regular members which may include a school principal, a learning support teacher, a classroom teacher, an Indigenous support worker, and a counsellor. On a case-by-case basis as needed to plan for individual students, the team may also include the student's parent/guardian, the student, and, as appropriate, district resource staff, and representatives from community services, regional authorities, or from other ministries.
