1. Query Basics
In Aspen a Query is a set of instructions to filter your data. Queries give the user the power to define the filter instructions (or criteria) based on their needs. The Query will find all the records that match the criteria.
Queries can user complex criteria such as multiple fields as well as "AND" and "OR" operators. Dynamic Queries can even allow for the user to input data that can become part of the criteria.
Queries may be saved as a Filter for quick access.

2. Creating a Basic Query
1. Click Options -> Query
2. Build your Search Criteria
3. Use top of the query window to select:
a. The Table
b. The Field
c. The Operator
e. The Value
4 Click Add (if it’s the first; AND or OR if it's not.
The AND Operator - Use AND when you want to match ALL of the conditions.
The OR Operator - Use OR when you want to match ANY one of the conditions.
3. Creating Dynamic Queries
Using "Advanced Mode", you can create a query that asks for user input. We call this a Dynamic Query.
These can be helpful to ensure that your Queries can be used for similar contexts.

4. Using Filters as short cuts to Queries
Once you have your query tested and refined so that you know how it works, you can create a short cut to it called a Filter. If you have a query that you use often, you can save it to your Filters list for quick access.
