Consequences of Voices
by Olivia T.
Voices should be heard,
But I speak like there is a consequence,
My words sound blurred,
And quiet at first.
All because voices;
Do have consequences,
I’ll speak my words cautiously,
Until I’m ready to pay those expenses,
Of sumptuosity.
I won’t Mislead,
Or taunt,
I will write out a deed,
In my signature font.
And write what I won’t say,
Because words are stronger than tone,
I write what I can’t pay,
While my words cut to the bone.
Acceptance And Understanding
By Olivia T.
Kids will fight;
Any battle for acceptance and understanding.
Many lose,
Half, give up,
Few were blessed,
Some take it for granted,
Others are willing to give up their story.
For two things,
Acceptance and understanding,
Two things,
That shouldn't require a fight.
Kids pray to be taken off this Earth,
When this isn't granted,
They take fate into their own hands.
We’re kids with a future,
Not knights in a fable,
Not a fairy tale you can wait for later.
Don't let us become a wisp of a secret,
When the only things we need are,
Acceptance and Understanding.
Teenage Girls
by Olivia T.
“How could she be so stupid?”
“What is she wearing?”
“Care to lose a few pounds?”
“Look at her face, it's covered in pimples.”
“Whats wrong with her?”
“Does she have depression?”
“She just wants attention.”
She can't win.
She puts on a full face of makeup,
And she buys new clothes,
Almost starving herself to dealth,
Just to fit in a smaller size.
She sits quietly,
Waiting for their approval,
When all she'll get is even more criticism.
There is nothing wrong with her,
She is simply a beautiful,
Teenage girl,
Stuck in a hideous competition.
But she won't stop until she wins,
Even if that means hurting herself,
She won't stop until she is accepted,
By the other teenage girls.
Love Translation
by Olivia T.
The beating of bird’s wings,
To the thump of hearts, pound,
He reminds her of wedding rings.
The glow of the sunset,
To the shine in his eyes,
She gives him a new mindset.
The breeze in the leaves,
To the air in his lounges,
She makes him forget to breathe.
The current in the creek,
To the cracks in her heart ,
She won’t let this feeling leak.
They won't let this feeling flee,
Like nature spirits from deforestation,
There is no guarantee.
Their love will ever become a translation.
