Through the STAR Programme our students have the opportunity to access a range of short courses from Tertiary Providers.
Students participate in short-term programmes or introductory courses’ for a few days at a time or one day per week for several weeks, this give students the opportunity to gain an insight into possible areas of further study.

Youthline Wellington’s Youth Development Programme (YDP) offers personal development opportunities and training in Level 3 Youth Work. Whilst this offers training in Youth Work, the kaupapa and mātauranga within this programme can be applied to many areas of life.
The programme runs in Term 2 & 3 and consists of a weekly 2 hour session in Porirua in which you can gain 34 credits in Level 3 Youth Work with the option to extend into Term 4 with 14 additional credits for a full Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work.
