Aotea@Work is a programme which the Pathways Faculty | Ngā Huarahi Mahi is initiating in 2021. It aims to improve student pathway decision making and outcomes and to provide opportunities for students to prepare themselves for employment. “Research studies show that the greater the engagement of young people with employers during their education, the higher the earnings they can expect in their twenties." This has been highlighted in international studies such as Working it Out. The findings of this study have helped inform the development of programmes such as the Tertiary Education Commission’s Inspiring the Future.

We are looking at building exposure to various industries by giving students the opportunity to job shadow, attend industry specific workshops and/or apply for courses that will help with future employment.
