Students will perform one 12 bar unseen combination that is choreographed by the examiner.
This combination will include steps that the students have learned in class, but will be combined in a new way.
In addition to the terms listed below, students will also need to know all terms from Junior 3 Jazz.

ARABESQUE
A long line.
CHAINES/CHAINE TURN
A chain of turns; two forward steps on straight legs making one rotation.
CONTRACTION
The spiralling of the torso around the axis of the spine.
COUPE
To cut.
ECHAPPE
To escape.
DEMI LAY BACK
Slight tilt back with the upper body from the lower spine (no arch in the back) while doing a Demi Plie.
FLEX KICK
A small developpe kick. Must come from the knee.
GRAND BATTEMENT
Big beat.
HITCH
A short slide on the ball of the foot across the floor in any direction. Is usually done on a straight supporting leg.
JAZZ GLLISSADE
Another name for Drag Step. A darting step outwards on demi-plie while dragging the free foot across the floor. An excellent linking step.
KNEE POP
Done in Jazz 1st and Jazz 2nd positions with the feet.
LUNGE
A step forward or to the side into a demi plie with the supporting leg and foot turned out. A Jazz roc but turned out.
PAS DE BOURREE (ON THE SPOT)
Three steps finishing in an open position (back, side, open).
PAS DE BOURREE (TURNING)
Three steps turning under making one full rotation (back, side, front).
PIROUETTE (EN DEHORS)
To turn; a rotation of the body outside while standing on one foot.
SOUTENU TURN (EN DEHORS)
To sustain while turning; rotate outside on both feet. Can be done in Jazz First or Classical Fifth.
ROND DE JAMBE
Round of the leg.
