School Trips: Students have the privilege of attending field trips during the school year. All students need to possess a positive pattern of good behavior both before the field trip and during it. If behavior patterns before a field trip are such that a child presents a safety issue for themselves or other children, they may lose the privilege of attendance. The same expectations of being safe, respectful and responsible are in place whether in school or at the field trip.

    1. Parent Chaperones might be needed for a field trip. Chaperones who will be given “significant unsupervised access to a student” are required to have a regional background check (Utah Law 53A-15-1503).

Permission Slips: All children must have parental permission to attend a field trip.
