Homework: Homework is a vital aspect of the learning experience. It should be given the same professional attention as class work. Homework is provided to:

    1. Reinforce, maintain, enrich and extend skills and concepts taught in class.

    2. Inspire self-directed learning and academic achievement.

    3. Establish good study habits.

    4. Develop responsibility in each student.

    5. Establish an awareness and involvement of the parents in the child’s educational growth.

    6. Homework may be requested by noon on the day a child is absent. This allows time for the teacher to gather the necessary homework. It will be available at the end of the day.

    7. Individual teachers/teams decide the type and amount of homework. Each child should at least be reading each night.

Student Progress Reports: There are four quarters during the school year. A grade-report will be sent home at the end of each of those quarters with a final grade-report going home the last day of school. Two parent-teacher conference dates are also available to check on student progress. One is held the first week of October, the other is held the first week of February. We encourage all parents to access Skyward on a regular basis as a means of monitoring student progress. Please contact the front office for access information pertaining to your child.
