Absences:  Regular on-time attendance is a critical factor in achieving academic success. Students who are frequently absent or tardy miss valuable instruction time.  At Snow Springs, we are committed to following earnest and persistent efforts to remedy excess absences and tardies. Parents are encouraged to meet with the principal about any extended or excessive absences.  Obviously, students who are ill should not attend school.

Excusing Absences:  When a child is absent, the parent/guardian should call or send a note to excuse the child from school within five school days of the absence.  All attendance is entered by 9:30 each morning, after which Skyward calls to alert the parents if their student has been marked “unexcused”.  All student attendance is available via the Internet on Skyward.  Parents can obtain their student’s access information from the school secretary.

Tardiness:  Only slightly less negatively impactful on a child’s academic success is tardiness.  Students come into the building at 9:10. They are seated and ready to go by 9:15, which is when the tardy bell rings. Any student coming after that is marked tardy in Skyward.  Because children lose valuable teacher instruction during this time we encourage every family to make the greatest efforts in arriving on time.
