Road Driving

What is Road Driving?

On-the-road driving sessions focus on the practice of safe driving procedures on public roads. Students are required to have at least 15 hours of driving practice with parents/guardians before instructors will take them on the road. Students must have their Learner's Permit on their person at each session.

How many drives are required?

Students will complete a set of three drives, for three hours each drive. They will have up to two other driving companions (students) in the car. Students will each drive for one hour and observe for two hours per drive.

Where is Road Driving?

Road driving starts and ends at Polaris High School (address included in Google Maps below).  We will be driving over public roads throughout Utah County.  Each drive will take a different route determined by student learning needs. These routes may cover suburban/city, rural, freeway, and canyon roads.

When is Road Driving?

Once the student has completed the Driver Ed E-Shore packet, students/parents will receive an email with a link to sign up for available driving slots.  All three driving dates must be scheduled in the same week-block of appointments.  Any appointments made over the course of more than one week will be deleted and will need to be rescheduled. Driving dates are available on a first-come basis. Please signup earlier, rather than later, if you would like more options. All driving during the school year will occur between 3:30-6:30pm. Summer hours will be from 9AM - Noon. We do not have any other available times at this point.
