We've been busy in Mrs. Mac's class. Besides looking forward to Halloween, we had our class school pictures taken, had Parent/Teacher Conferences, enjoyed a Fall Break, and had a week-long Red Ribbon Week reminding us to stay drug-free and live a healthy life style. We had Pumpkin Day and spent the day learning about pumpkins and making pumpkin stew and we have been learning all the bones in our skeletons using the Bone Song. (Look on the web page for more about our October curriculum. A SPECIAL THANK YOU to the great moms who came to help us with our Halloween party. We had a great time making Halloween bracelets, making a witch's brew, hearing a Halloween story and playing Halloween games. Thanks for preparing such fun activities for us!THANK YOU to Mrs. Snow for volunteering to help us learn more about art using the PTA lessons! We appreciate her and the effort she makes to prepare a lesson and teach us each month. Thank you so much! We had a lot of fun with her and look forward to her visit in November.LOOKING AHEAD IN NOVEMBER (Please refer to the calendars on Mrs. Mac's homepage and the calendar in the homework folders for events and Show & Tell information)BOOK ORDERS will be due November 11th.NOVEMBER 18TH END OF FIRST TRIMESTER Look for Report Cards to follow soon after NOVEMBER 21ST First Grade Grover Buck Activity. We have been earning Grover Bucks for our good behavior. If we have collected at least 10 Grover Bucks, we can pay for a ticket to attend our first Grover Buck activity. Yay! (I hope we will ALL be able to go)NOVEMBER 22ND Thanksgiving Feast We wil be learning about the first Thanksgiving and on this day will dress up in our pilgrim and native american accessories we have made in class and celebrate with our own Thanksgiving Feast.
