Thank you for the time you donate to our classroom coming in to change PTA books, help with reading, help with our parties, and sending in birthday treats and bringing in special Show & Tells. All of these small things show your children that you are interested in what they are doing in school. You are wonderful parents.Thank you again to the Wisners for helping our class budget. I couldn’t manage all the charges for printing and laminating and purchasing supplies for our class room without the additional financial help. The Wisners are our classroom partners and they are so supportive. Other parents have also made class donations that I appreciate so much. Thank you. March is the month when funds run low, and any contributions help.HEARTFELT THANK YOU for all the gifts, goodies, cards, flowers and tokens of appreciation that were liberally showered on us this past week during TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK! Mrs. Whipple and I felt very much appreciated and it seemed like Christmas every day! Thank you for thinking of us and for being so generous and kind.Valentines Day Our class party was a great success! Thanks to the super moms who helped plan and direct the activities. Mrs.Snow as our Head Room Mother took charge and We decorated cookies, made Valentine crafts and played games. We exchanged our Valentines and ate a lot of goodies. Fun Day!Storytelling Festival Kiera Gibson and Clarissa Stirling were our class representatives in the Storytelling Festival this year. They both did a fine job telling their stories in our classroom and in the First Grade competition. Congratulations to both of them for representing Mrs. Mac's and Whipple's class so well.Learning: February has been a full month. We have been learning about the Presidents of the U.S. Invite your students to sing the “Presidents Song” to you. We’ve also learned some American History as a bonus. Spotlights were on Presidents Lincoln and Washington as we celebrated their birthdays this month. We have been concentrating on the long vowel sounds and their different spelling patterns. Our reading is just getting better and better! We are so smart. In math we have been learning about gathering and recording data and now we are concentrating on addition and subtraction using larger numbers and adding more than just two addends. We also have learned about number relationships by studying fact families. LOOKING AHEAD: MARCHReport Cards Look for the second trimester report card mid-March.
