MARCH REVIEWMarch has been a busy month with a lot of progress. We are starting to act like second graders. Reading is our main focus and we are concentrating on fluency. We are also working on inference and comprehension strategies.We have been working on addition and subtraction strategies and place value. We are also experts at reading the clock and we are practicing adding money. We have learned about the weather, reading maps, the properties of water, plants, rocks and soil.We had a little “magic” this month celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. We’ve been learning lots of songs during singing time and we have finished learning about each president of the U.S. LOOKING AHEAD IN APRIL:April 2-6 the PTA is sponsoring a Scholastic Book Fair. It is being held in the Media Center.April 9-13 is our Spring Break. I hope you all enjoy a little time away from school. April 18th I will be administering our final DRA Benchmark reading assessment.April 20th FINAL BOOK ORDER DUE April and May combinedThe end of the school year is rapidly approaching. We will be ending the year with a lot of important learning and assessing. It is so important for our students to be on time and in attendance. Thank you for everything you do to support our classroom. I have had a wonderful year teaching your children. They are a great group. Two more months to go!
