Start of the day. These tasks apply every day. Time permitting some of these tasks can be completed at the end of the night which means they just need to be checked in the morning, The items below with an * could be done at the end of service.
While doing this setup it is a good idea to start a list of tasks that you can come back to either during service or between service. A full list of likey tasks can be found be found in the Between service document.
Once the full set up is complete you should be set to go.
The initial setup
This is the bare minimum set up that would need to be done to open, often completed by donut staff
Check the outside area is clean and tidy, if needed pickup any rubbish and use the leaf blower or broom to remove leaves.
Take outdoor furniture out and setup, try and keep it all lined up and straight, chairs tucked in neatly
If tables are unstable, place a piece of cardboard underneath the table leg so tables are stable. One of the cutlery pouches would work well or whatever is at hand, but just make sure it looks tidy and won’t slip out.
Check to make sure outside tables are clean, sometimes at night some stains will be missed. If so just use a chux and pink spray to wipe
Inside, put chairs down and make sure they are tucked under tables neatly. Make sure tables are clean, if needed wipe with a chux and pink spray.
Turn on the lights. Turn on fans everyday, heaters or air con as needed.
Get the float from safe and put it in the till, turn on till ipad, and the Hubster tablet. Switch on button for outside music. Check printer paper.
Grab out at least 6 water bottles and place on water tray, get filter coffee and place on counter, check there is a back up (weekends)
Check and wipe perspex on the donut trolly, using blue spray and paper towel, clip on donut labels.
Full set up completed.
These extra steps need to be completed either with the initial setup or when a floor staff member starts and initial setup has been done.
All these checks and tasks need to be completed daily with the aim that the diner is topped up and clean at all times.
Fill the ice cream jug with water. Make sure there is a fresh wet chux on the milkshake machine, the coffee machine and a spare for the tables.
Check the coffee machine is set up and the area is clean and ready to use.
Check milk levels and check milkshake and margarita mixes. Check cold filter levels
Check float, check ipads are charged and on if needed. Check music and outside speakers are on. Check staplers and staple and toothpick holder levels*
Packaging, check all donut and drink packaging levels, check straws, pink napkins and paper bag levels. Check pouched cutlery levels, If time restock all these items or make a note to do as time permits*
Check black shelf area and wipe or dust if needed, restock items if needed. Clean and organise the water area, check glasses are clean and topped up. Check for colouring sheets*
Wipe window ledges with a wet chux that's been sprayed with pink spray..
Check that the donut trolley is clean topped up with packaging, labels are correct and perspex is clean *
Check that all tables in the diner and out side are clean and stable (outside)
Put out sauce trays on fine days, check that each is clean, if not empty and wipe out. Check sauce levels and that Qr codes are in the tray*
Put filled napkin dispensers on outside tables.
Check sauce trays inside, fill sauces and clean trays if needed with a wet chux that's been sprayed with pink spray *
If needed wipe down bench seats outside
Check pass and wipe if needed, throw out old dockets if needed*
Check heating, cooling and fans
