Message from the Principal:

It has certainly been an exciting start to what promises to be an outstanding school year. In the month of September so far, men's soccer, women's golf, cross country, women's tennis, and football have put together impressive resumes while preparing to forge their way to the top of the conference standings. Beginning on Wednesday, all students will enjoy interactive clubs like All-Star Band, DECA Club, Future Farmers of America, SkillsUSA, Science and Engineering Club, and Sports Medicine Club, just to name a few. In addition to offering many academic pathways, we feel like it is our responsibility to offer a multitude of clubs that will help students develop skills that will help them in school, career and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership and effective communication.

Looking ahead, we are excited to induct our newest Beta Club members on Tuesday, September 20th at 6 PM in the auditorium. That same evening, we will be hosting the Future Farmers of America regional conference. Other events that are on the horizon for us include the Powder Puff game which will be played on the football field this Friday, September 23rd. Furthermore, AC's Got Talent will be open to the the public on Saturday, September 24th at 6PM in the auditorium. For $1 admission, we will be allowing the student body to gather in the auditorium on the afternoon of September 26th for a second performance of AC's Got Talent. 

I would like to remind parents of our sign-out policy for student drivers:

"If a student provides their own transportation to school, a parent, guardian, or emergency contact CAN send a note, fax, or email to Debbie Schrum at debbie_schrum@alexander.k12.nc.us in the attendance office (a phone number must be on the note, email, or fax that matches a phone number in Powerschool for verification purposes). 

• Phone calls will not be accepted to check students out of school.

• Upon returning to school, documentation must be provided for the reason to sign out.

• Students are allowed two (2) parent sign-outs per semester without medical documentation. On the third (3rd) non-medical sign out, students will be assigned consequences as defined in our student handbook."

In closing, I would like to thank you for your support as we would not be experiencing so much success if it weren't for your active partnership.
