March 2023
March 2023
Message from the Principal:
We are now two weeks away from the third nine weeks coming to an end. As we continue to move forward, we encourage parents to be vigilant in monitoring student grades through PowerSchool. Teachers will be sending home progress reports with students on Tuesday, March 14th. Report cards will go home with students on Wednesday, March 29th. Before we know it, the 2022-2023 school year will be coming to a close. Consequently, I encourage students to continue to give their best as the close of the school year quickly approaches. In the event they need extra support, please encourage them to reach out to their teacher directly. Your student's success is important to us at ACHS. Beginning Monday, March 20th, teachers and students will use a computer program entitled Edficiency to CHOOSE where students will be during Flex time, each day. Flex is a time built into the daily schedule (9:30-10:05 AM) for teachers and students to work together outside of class time. It is a time for students to receive uninterrupted support. It will also be a time for students to complete work while at school to help free up their time after school. I am attaching an image below that will explain the Flex sessions in a little bit more depth.
Parents interested in serving on the 2023-2024 School Improvement Team (SIT) need to contact SIT Chair Elisabeth Turner elisabeth_turner@alexander.k12.nc.us, or Principal Jacob Lail jlail@alexander.k12.nc.us
The School Improvement Team meets the third Wednesday of every month at 3:30 PM in the Media Center at Alexander Central High School.
I would like to thank you for the support of your child's education thus far. Much of our success is due to your active involvement. As we continue to work together, I trust the 4th nine weeks will be a huge success!
Sincerely,
Jacob Lail
