Head of Operations
Sorraya has been part of Aleto since September 2022 and is passionate about helping the charity grow, by overseeing our programmes, implementing and monitoring processes and systems and ensuring our operations run as smoothly and effectively as possible.
She holds a BA (Hons) in History & Politics from the University of Warwick, CPE (Law) from the University of Sussex and LPC qualification from the College Law. She enjoyed a successful career in law spanning over a decade, before deciding to take a career break, which was spent living in the Caribbean and enjoying her children’s’ early years.
After returning to the UK Sorraya became a ghostwriter and still enjoys the rewarding experience of building the uniquely close relationship required to write somebody’s autobiography.
She has always had an avid interest in education, young people and volunteering, having served for many years as a primary school governor and treasurer of a secondary school PSA. With a good eye for detail, a flair for events organisation and a desire to use her skills for a good purpose, she was delighted when the opportunity to join Aleto came her way.
In her free time, she enjoys long walks with her dog Kobi, travelling to new places, cooking and getting lost in a book.

With 10 years of experience in various business roles and commercial delivery across different sectors and countries, she finds collaborating online without geographic limitations and utilizing the latest digital tools the most fulfilling aspect of her work. Passionate about working with individuals who share the same commitment, she offers consulting services to non-profit organizations. She believes her work can positively impact these areas and contribute to creating a better future for the communities in need. She is dedicated to helping the next generation.
As a black female founder, she serves as a role model and supports the next generation in choosing non-traditional career paths, making a positive impact on their lives. It is very rewarding to support them daily. Just as she has taken action to set herself up for success, she is also channelling this same energy into her business. She is currently the Head of the Online Mentoring Programme at the Aleto Foundation, a distinguished organization that is dedicated to promoting social mobility and helping the next generation become tomorrow's leaders.
