Youth Express: You're on the Radio!

Dates: August 10-14 & August 17-21 (This is a two week camp and it is preferred that participants plan to attend both weeks.)

Time: 11:00 am-12:00 pm

Grades: 3-5

Description: Students will write and record a story about a personal experience (e.g., my favorite outdoor place, a time I won a prize, the oldest person I know) using QuickStory templates developed by SLB. These templates combine the discipline of speedwriting (including drafting, revising, checking) with the fun of creating and recording a radio script. Recordings will be online using an SLB Virtual Recording Studios. Depending on the cohort and interest areas, we may also add opportunities to learn about interviewing and roundtable discussions as well as explore STEM topics including audio waveforms, waveform editing, and how circuits work.
