It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself to all new parents. My name is Donovan Dorning, and this is my eighth year as a member of the AISJ school faculty. AISJ has an excellent reputation in the wider international school teaching community. I have worked with colleagues who have spent time at AISJ and speak highly of their time here.
My wife, Melanie, is a member of the second-grade teaching team. We have been married for 27 years and have two children. Our daughter, Jessica, has just started her graduate school program at the University of Miami. Our son Michael graduated from AISJ in June 2019. After completing a Gap Year, he is now enrolled at the International Hotel School in South Africa doing a Bachelor of Business Administration in hotel management.
I have a four-year higher diploma in education (U.S Bachelor Degree equivalent), and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the American College of Education. I graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1994. I have been an elementary school educator for 28 years; 25 of those years have been in international schools worldwide. I have taught Homeroom classes from grades two through seven, using the American, IB, and British curriculums. I joined AISJ after spending nine years at the Karachi American School.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself to all new parents. My name is Justin Fischer, and this is my third year as an American International School of Jeddah educator. I had an exceptional experience during my first two years at AISJ, and I am delighted to embark on another academic year. I want to thank our scholars and families for their dedication to their academics during the past school year. All have contributed to my feeling welcomed. I am optimistic about the upcoming school year and look forward to educating incoming grade six scholars.
My wife Kelly and I moved overseas after spending several years teaching in Phoenix, Arizona, in the United States. I have a background educating 4th-7th grade scholars in multiple subjects. In 2013 we moved to Malta, working as educators for a K-12 International School. Next, we were fortunate to educate students at International Schools in Georgia and Italy. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunities to share new experiences and meet lovely people.
I hold a four-year B.A. in Political Science from Washington State University, an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and an M.A. in Education Administration from Northern Arizona University. Over the past 19 years, my background has provided opportunities to work in both elementary and middle school as an educator and K-12 as an administrator in both U.S. public and International Schools. I have instructed homeroom classes from grades four through seven, operating multiple curriculums.
