Welcome to all AISJ scholars! I am thrilled to serve as your Middle School Principal. Our Middle School is filled with bright scholars who continue to impress me with their ideas, thoughtfulness, and persistence. This summer, I hope that you find some time to rest, to have fun, and to continue in your learning. Your incredible teachers have prepared some resources for you to continue to practice and grow in your learning over the summer! I cannot wait to see you again in just a few short months!
As for my summer, I will be heading to the United States to visit family and friends. I'll make some stops in Ohio, Colorado, New York, and Tennessee. I will continue working on my Doctorate at Johns Hopkins and spend some time in New York City as an Instructional Assistant at Teachers College, Columbia University, supporting Master's Students in their program as they begin their journey to becoming Principals. I'll also be reading a few texts by my current authors of interest: Yaa Gyasi, Rajaa Alsanea, Thrity Umrigar, and Viet Thanh Nguyen. I would love to hear from you about any of your reading recommendations!
If you have any questions or need support over the summer, please reach out any time! My email is kbull@aisj.edu.sa.
Hello to all new and returning Falcons and Falcon Families. Wrapping up this first year at AISJ Middle School has been a wonderful experience, and I am heading into our summer break full of excitement for spending 2023-2024 with you!
At AISJ middle school, we have developed a culture of scholar voice, and we will continue on this path as we grow toward more scholar action and ownership. This puts us on a path of continual and meaningful growth. Schools exist in what Simon Sinek calls “The Infinite Game,” and what he means by this is there is no endpoint in what we do. We just continue to work together to be better than we were yesterday. The key to this being “working together.” So as we head into, or we are enjoying, our weeks of leisure, take some time to reflect and consider where we are, where you would like us to be, and how you can make a difference in us getting there. Just also remember to take some time to refresh and recharge.
Personally, I will be filling my cup by getting home to Rocky Mountains of Wyoming with my family and as much time on a mountain bike as I can squeeze in. I’ll also be taking advantage of some time to level up by catching up on reading, listening to my favorite podcasts, and taking a class or two while traveling.
Enjoy your summer, Falcons, and please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can do to help!
