š Lego Club: Every other Monday, after school
10/5, 10/19, 11/2, 11/16, 12/14
š Thursday, October 8: First Cross Country Meet
This Thursday, we are hosting our first cross country meet. Four teams will be travelling to Airline to compete. We need volunteers to help with the meet - parking,Ā course marshals, finish line help, and concessions. We also need a grill master! Our grill master's runner graduated last year and we need someone to replace him. We also need baked goods donated to sell. Ā The money that we make during cross country meets supports ALL of our sports and activities- including PEEWEE basketball and lego club.

We are also hosting our two large meets coming up and we need MANY volunteers:
Thursday, October 15th: Small Schools Championship (we host aroundĀ 250 runners)
Thursday, October 29th: Airline Invitational (we host 300+ runners)
This week, I did not get many photos- sorry! My hands were busy because we were busy starting our small group work in writing, math and reading! Now that we are settling into our routine, we are starting our groups for individual and small group learning. Very exciting!
In reading workshop this week, we started learning new activities we can do to practice our letter/word study.
On Tuesday, we had our first, full school assembly! Throughout the month we have been writing names on a slips, when we see exceptional examples of our core values: responsiblity, respect, kindness, and honesty.Ā At our assembly we drew a name and that person got to choose an activity to do. The person was in our classroom and they chose for everyone in our school to have an extra recess!Ā It was wonderful to see someone choose something for everyone to share their awesomeness!
