Our first 5 day week is now under our belt and I couldn't be more proud of how much we have grown in these first 12 days of school!

We continue to work on classroom community, our core values, and daily routines as our main focus. We are beginning to add new learning into our day and I have started individual assessments to see where we are as learners!

In writing workshop, we have continued to work on our illustration skills.  We practiced illustrating clothing on people and then used illustrator, Felicia Bond (of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie), as inspiration for how to draw patterns and details on clothing and fabrics.

In math we have been practicing/learning new games for our math stations. At the end of the week, we did a practice run of math groups!

In reading workshop, we have been learning that We are Readers!  We took a walk around the school and pointed out all of the words we could see and read!

We started our first Friday chess day this week! On Fridays, our entire school comes together to play chess with one another. Our older friends teach us how to play. We then enjoy time playing math games together!
