Some of our current and recent students give their memories of the first couple of months of A Levels ...

Aliza: The Sixth Form environment here at AHS is extremely welcoming. Although at times subjects may be challenging, teachers are always willing to spend time helping students whether that be in lessons or break and lunch, which is really beneficial. As well as that, all the students are very helpful and understanding. I have loved the subject content in all my subjects so far and have also enjoyed doing wider reading for the topics. Moreover, having study periods is something new for every sixth former, however, I have thoroughly enjoyed having this opportunity as it really helps me stay on top of my work and, if used efficiently, study periods can really decrease a person's home workload.

Riya: So far Sixth Form has been extremely enjoyable. The workload is large but isn't so daunting since we have study periods which give us the opportunity to work in between lessons. I look forward to delving deeper into my 3 subjects everyday.

Mia: Since joining AHS in the Sixth Form, I feel I have settled in well and been welcomed by both staff and students. The passion the teachers have for the subjects they teach is remarkable and it encourages the students to reach their full potential. I have enjoyed all of my subjects: Drama, Psychology and Business, and though I am studying new subjects that I hadn’t previously studied, I have been reassured and advised by teachers along the way.

Keziah: I have really enjoyed my first 2 months in Sixth Form despite it being quite challenging. There is lots of support from teachers and staff to help with the transition from GCSE to A Level and the study periods that we are provided with also enable students to get work done in school so that they have free time to spend with friends and family.
