Software:
Drone Deploy
ContextCapture
Pix4D
FIELD ACCESSORIES
Ground Control Points -
Aero Points - $1000 per GCP
Altitude:
Higher- Less Data
Lower- More data
Ground Sampling Distance GSD
You need a 20 Mpx camera for enough data in your images.
Area on the ground represented by 1 pixel. You cannot be more accurate in the size of your models than 1 pixel. The Lower your altitude, the higher your accuracy. The more data in 1 pixel.
Distinguishing Characteristics
Increase your overlap when needing to capture images flying close so more data can be collected to fit the images together
Environment
Overcast day or high noon are ideal times to capture data because shadows are limited if the scene is dynamic. Moving Shadows and Intermittent clouds cause shadows, making it difficult for the software to match images
Reflective surfaces, Windows, water, and white roofs are challenges
Coverage
Waypoint-assisted mission planning-
70% side and front overlap = New 30% new data,
Minimum of 8 images per point on the map
Dimminishing return- Too much overlap will enter a profile of diminishing returns
Elevation Change
Introduce a change in the overlap of images. Drone deploy has a terrain awareness feature, based off GIS data, not Lidar and RJK GPS data
Nadir: 90-degree angle: Image's angled straight down
Oblique Images: Images at an angle
Drone Deploy= Enhanced 3D mapping
Overshoot calculation : Altitude is 100' then overshoot the area of interest by 2x = 200'
Base Level for context Altitude 350'
High level area of interest - Altitude 100'
Details of specific Items - <100'
Drone Deploy
Flight control App Creates pre-programmed waypoint-assisted missions. Autopilot for the drone. Useful in case the control needs to reset mid-mission. Set a series of waypoints.
Mission Creation:
Web-based and Controller-based.
Types: Standard, Facade, and Corridor
Media:
Panorama, Video Photo Report
