All admissions are agreed through consultation by the Local Authority (LA)
Process of admission:
Consultation recieved by the school from the LA
Documents read by SENDCo and questions raised to be asked of LA and current school
Current school contacted by SENDCo, potential visit to child in school planned if necessary
Parents/carers contacted and invited for a visit to the school
Principal examines all the information collected and decision made with SENDCo and Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
Admission date agreed with LA
Parents/carers invited to visit the school with child and transition plans (including a 'soft start') agreed, Welcome Pack and Class transition booklet shared with parents/carers
Parents/carers apply for SEND transport
When the taxi/transport is in place start date confirmed
Child starts at the school
SEND Transport
Children and young people with special educational needs may get help with travel to school or college, but it is not an automatic right. An assessment is made of the child's needs and individual circumstances with all decisions made and managed by the Gloucestershire Local Authority.
A door-to-door service is provided only in specific circumstances. Children may have to travel to their nearest pickup point.
