Our School Day
The school day at Hockley Primary is as follows:
School Day
EYFS and Key Stage 1:
Gates open: 8:40am
School day : 8:50 am - 3:20 pm
Gate opens: 8:40am - 8:50am
Morning Breaktime: 20 minutes
Lunch Break: 12:00pm - 12:55 pm
End of School Day: 3:20pm
Key Stage 2:
Gates open: 8:30am
School day : 8:40am-3:10pm
Morning Breaktime: 20 minutes
Lunch Break: 12:30 pm - 13:15 pm
End of School Day: 3:10pm
Start of the day
At 8:30am, the gates will be opened for Key Stage 2 children only.
These children will then walk down the path, through the playground and straight into their classrooms independently. The official start time for Key stage 2 children is 8:40am.
In Reception and Key Stage 1, parents will be able to walk with their children down to the Infant Gate ready for 8:40am. At 8:40am, a member of EYFS/ KS1 team will unlock the Infant Gate and greet the children. There will also be support staff on the classroom doors.
The official start time for Key stage 1 and reception children is 8:50am.
End of the day
Top gates will be opened at 3pm.
Key stage 2 children will finish at 3:10pm. Children will walk out of school independently where they will be greeted by their parents in the waiting area.
Reception and Key stage 1 parents will be permitted to walk down and wait in the Infant waiting area to collect their children outside their classroom doors at 3:20pm.
Message to parents
In order for the morning/ afternoon schedule to run smoothly please do not request to speak to the class teacher when dropping off or collecting your child- To arrange an appointment or to pass on information please phone the school or email office@hockleyprimary.org.
Parents will not be permitted to visit the school office between 8:30am-8:50am and 3:05pm-3:20pm
Parents will need to phone or email the school office (office@hockleyprimary.org) to arrange any meetings.
Regulations provide for the supervision of children for 10 minutes before each morning session. Children should not arrive at school before 8.30 am unless specifically asked to do so.
Parents/carers are expected to collect their children promptly at 3.10pm or 3.20 pm. We do not have the facilities, and cannot accept responsibility for children who stay after school unless they are attending a school club.
