Wendy Power (Parent Member)

My children and I have been part of BPA since 2020, one has now moved on to Henley bank. You may also recognise me from PTFA events. As you can tell that I am happy and willing to help BPA in as many ways possible. My daily job is in compliance for an insurance company, because of this I have a great understanding of the importance of the legal, professional and personal responsibilities required from BPA, myself and other members.

Nikki Hughes (Staff Member)

I have been a teacher at BPA since beginning my NQT year in 2018 and have always sought for ways to contribute to the school and community to make it the best possible experience for all of our children; my commitment to the Academy Council felt like another way to achieve this. I now lead on our art and DT provision and took the lead with achieving our Artsmark Award, alongside also having found myself as an unofficial in-house media designer (academy posters, videos, library decoration, event tickets and displays being my speciality).  I feel privileged to have been able to be a part of our school's improvement journey so far, as we have grown in size and continued to develop our curriculum.

Outside of school, my passions lie within Scouting and performing arts and, where possible, I try to bring these experiences to school to continue to offer our children a broad range of opportunities.

Rachael Jeffery (Staff Member)

Rachael has worked at Brockworth Primary Academy for many years, more recently as Deputy Principal. Rachael trained as a teacher at Plymouth University and has worked in schools in Bristol and Gloucester. She is passionate about developing links within the community to further enhance the opportunities and experiences for every child at BPA.

Laura Kidd (Community Member)

I live in Brockworth and I am a local primary school teacher, with over 15 years teaching experience. I am passionate about providing a high-quality education for all and ensuring all children can fulfil their potential.

I have two children, aged 12 and 14 years old. They both attended Brockworth Primary Academy - they loved their time there and have many fond memories. Even though my children have now moved on to secondary school, I am keen to support BPA on it’s exciting journey of development and to help the school grow and provide the best possible outcomes and opportunities for all.

While my children were at BPA,

I enjoyed playing an active role in the PTFA - from selling cakes on the playground, to being Santa's 'Little Helper'. I was also Chair of the Parent Community Advisory Board.

I'm proud to be the Council's SEND Champion. As a parent to two children with special needs, I understand and see the daily ups and downs of parenting and educating children with special needs. I will work hard to ensure that the needs and interests of SEND pupils remain at the forefront of everyone’s minds at all times.

Breda Bowles (Community Member)

I live in Gloucester with my husband Steve. Our children and grandchildren all live in Gloucestershire too. It has been a privilege to teach and to lead schools in Gloucestershire and Oxford until my recent retirement. I am looking forward to working alongside the headteacher and the whole school community with the children being at the heart of all that we do.
