AET launches its national leadership recruitment campaign

Date: 08/01/24

This week, AET has announced the launch of a new national leadership campaign designed to find and shape the next generation of school leaders.

We are looking for the next generation of school leaders to eradicate the disadvantage gap and ensure that every child in an AET school experiences an excellent education.

Successful candidates will receive a dedicated package for learning and improvement, including an individual development account of up to £100,000 and a development framework designed in partnership with Ambition Institute

In a recent Tes article, CEO of AET, Rebecca-Boomer Clark, emphasised the importance that we ‘ensure investment in headteachers is non-negotiable’, stating that ‘leaders need permission to prioritise themselves’ and their professional development.

With disparities in outcomes across the sector, combined with a national attendance crisis, excellent school leadership is more important than ever. It is vital that our schools are led by a network of determined and ambitious leaders who have high expectations for children and their communities.

The campaign seeks to identify and champion the school leaders who are:

With a team of network-minded, exceptional leaders at the helm, the trust continues its journey to becoming a network of high performance across the board and spearheads its ambitious targets for 2028, known as AET490

Successful candidates will be given the space and agency to champion their own development. As AET leaders, they will receive:

With a national network of 57 primary, secondary and special schools in almost every region across the country, AET leaders are given the space and opportunity to create a real impact on the lives of children in a diverse range of school contexts.

As a trust, AET exists to be the proof of concept that it is possible to deliver an entitlement to excellence for every child, regardless of where they live, what school they go to, or their family circumstances.  To achieve this, the AET Leaders campaign seeks those with the drive to serve young people, the determination to be the best leader, and the dedication to create lasting change for communities across the country.
