Established in 1975, and with approximately 1500 students between the ages of14 to 19, Galilei’s Lyceum is one of the most important public secondary schools in Perugia. The School is situated in a park near the historical centre and close to significant institutions (National Gallery and the Augusta Library). It has many school labs (Chemistry,Physics Lab,drawing classroom, ICT and CODING LAB) and a large library with over 5000 books. The main subjects taught in our School are Maths, Physic and Natural Sciences, but Arts, Latin, Italian Literature, Philosophy and History are a very important part of our students' curriculum. A great deal of attention is paid to Foreign Language programs. Two courses study Cambridge syllabuses (Maths, History, and Global Perspectives) attending IGCSEs’ exams, while one course has a French-Italian curriculum (EsaBac). Students can achieve the French Baccalauréat and have access to the newest course studies Coding Language, such as Sketch, blender and using STEAM. Galilei’s Lyceum is the recipient of the regional phase of a prestigious prize concerning the use of technology in didactics (PNSD).
Galilei’s Lyceum is an inclusive school for non-native speakers and we are open to internationalization. We also consider ourselves to be a “Green school” and we are currently adopting new policies aimed at limiting the use of plastic bottles in our campus.
Our industrious pupils have created an online e-book that showcases some of the more beautiful aspects of our country and town. We hope that you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed making it.
