Pairing Words with Play 

Have a student who is new to using their AAC device? This kit was designed for use with families to help them learn how to model words on their child's new AAC device. The kit comes with scripts, scenes, and toys for modeling language using any of the following language sets: Proloquo2Go, Snap+Core, Words for Life, and Boardmaker. These kits are available for check out via Insignia for AEA employees and LEA staff.

Parent tips

Sometimes parents need to hear from other parents who have been in their shoes when starting something new! This video was included in Cough Drop's conference in 2019 and includes tips from parents of kids who use AAC systems.  This video may give them some advice and support they need!
