Information related to AEM and AT should be clearly and comprehensively included in the IEP.   Documents on this page provide comprehensive and summary guidance.  The purpose of each document is provided in the following:

• Comprehensive IEP Guidance for AEM and AT- Provides comprehensive review of all areas of the Iowa IEP that could include information related to AEM.  This document includes sample language for many of the text sections and users are encouraged to adjust  the sample language to reflect the needs of individual students.

• Summary IEP Guidance for AEM and AT- Provides an indication of each of the areas that should be addressed when AEM is required. 

• If-Then for AEM and AT in the IEP:   Provides an overview of the relationship of required checkboxes and pulldowns for AIM and AT.

Use the Documentation of Completion of the 5-Step Process for all Students to document these steps/activities for all students within a caseload or roster. For district-wide accountability, use the 5-Step AEM Process Documentation for District - Sheet 1.
