For this project I will be creating key chains using my family's names. I want to make them using the 3D Printer so I will need to use TinkerCad for the final print. In order to use some custom fonts, I will use Gravit Designer first and import what I create there to TinkerCad.
I started with a little research. I went to Google Images to see what I would find as examples and inspiration. I made this mood board as part of that research.
I also have this as an inspiration that I created a couple of years ago. I like the way I connected the letters for this one.
Next step was to start sketching out some ideas. I tried to use a font that I thought would look cool. I'll work on finding actual fonts when I get to Gravit Designer. I like the block letters for Josephine, but need to look a little more for Maddox. I realized that the single line "I" would not work well for Josephine as it would disappear in the print. So I switched to an "I" with Serifs.
I made this video to show how I put together Maddox's name plate. I had already created the lettering and parts before I realized I should be recording, so this is kind of a re-enactment. Once I finished putting it together I just exported it as an SVG file and imported it into TinkerCad for sizing and to create the STL file for printing.
