This site serves as a guide for the MYP Personal Project for all students, parents and supervisors.
The Personal Project is a compulsory project completed in the final year of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP). It is an opportunity to explore a topic that is of interest to each student, to develop Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills further and to create something unique to each student.
Every Grade 10 student at ACS Egham must complete this project.
The Personal Project is exactly what its title suggests – a personal project.
Students choose a topic that is of interest to them personally together with an MYP Global Context that will support the project.
Students are entirely responsible for their own Personal Project. It is an investigation that is completed independently. All students are assigned an adult supervisor who will be available to offer them advice and guidance as and when necessary.
Apart from their supervisors, students will have many opportunities to talk with and seek advice from parents, friends and other adults. However, the work completed in the project must be their own.
At the end of the project, all students will have produced a final 'product' and a personal project report - and learnt a whole lot along the way!
The PRODUCT or OUTCOME is created to show other people what has been investigated.
