Assessment

The following assessment criteria have been established by the International Baccalaureate for the Personal Project.

The final project grade will be made up from the 4 Criterion for the report (see below), with a maximum grade of 7.

Criterion A: investigating

In the personal project, students should:

define a clear goal and global context for the project, based on personal interests
identify prior learning and subject-specific knowledge relevant to the project
demonstrate research skills.

CRITERION B: Planning

In the personal project, students should:

develop criteria for the product/outcome
plan and record the development process of the project
demonstrate self-management skills.

Criterion C: Taking action

In the personal project, students should:

create a product/outcome in response to the goal, global context and criteria
demonstrate how different sources are applied or supported different elements of the project, inlcuding global context.
demonstrate communication and social skills.

Criterion D: Reflecting

In the personal project, students should:

evaluate the quality of the product/outcome against their criteria
reflect on how completing the project has extended their knowledge and understanding of the topic and the global context
reflect on their development as IB learners through the project.

Personal Project Interview Criteria (Formative)

The Personal Project interview is a formative assessment. Your marks for these criteria should be viewed as an indication of your interview skills and a way to set targets for future improvement. Maximum marks: 8 (per criterion)
