Since January 2017, Google has been aiming to penalize websites with intrusive interstitials and pop-ins when arriving from a search engine. These intrusive elements appear above the content and force the user to interact with them.

2 - Recommendations

Never use intrusive pop-in on mobile when the user enters your website from Google. An exception is still granted for the following formats:

• Obtain the consent of Internet users to the use of cookies,
• Confirm the age of a user on a site with an age limit to access content,
• Promotion of apps in a much less intrusive manner, which only takes a small part of the screen.
