This week we took part in our virtual Rainbow Sports Day at home.
Seven activities were chosen from the ideas suggested in week 2. Our nursery teachers demonstrated the activities for us to watch. We had to choose at least 3 activities to complete and share photos and videos on the ILD. We also had to wear something colourful for our Rainbow Sports Day.
This week we learned all about the sense of hearing.
Our Big Question linked to the common thread was: Who helps me? How do I keep mentally healthy?
LI: I can reflect on the people who help me through these difficult times.
We offered people to help who have helped us eg. we offered to tidy up.
Our second Big question we investigated looking at "My Healthy Body" was science based:
Why is our skeleton so important?
LI: We are now able to understand some functions of our skeleton.
For our bodies' health we learned about mindfulness and chose an activity that relaxes us such as drawing, painting, going on a mindfulness walk or playing a game we enjoy.
LI: I can discuss the impact the NHS has has during lockdown
LI: I can discuss how communities have supported each other during lockdown
We have been looking at our community and those around us who have helped keep community spirit up
We have also learnt the true value of the NHS
To show our appreciation we made gifts, sent letters, made door step deliveries and many more things to make people smile!
LI: I can reflect on the people around me who have helped me during lockdown
We planned at the start of the week to get us thinking about the people around us who are special to us. We thought about people who have supported us and those who we are missing at this time. We can’t wait to see everyone again when we are allowed to!
Some people who have helped us are: NHS, mum, dad, teachers, nature, grandparents, friends and pets!
After watching the tutorial below, pupils noted down their responses. Not only is SHARE a crucial part of the curriculum, it is also embedded into our cross curricular learning, helping to answer the Big Question:
'What do healthy relationships look like?'
