At the beginning of each cross-curricular context, staff will carry out a knowledge harvest to ascertain what they pupils already know and what they would like to find out about the context.
Staff will work with the pupils to classify similar questions to shape each Big Question of which there are usually 3 or 4.
One of the Big Questions will naturally develop into the Interdisciplinary Learning focus from which rich tasks are planned.
Staff will plan the learning carefully to ensure that sufficient knowledge, understanding and relevant skills are taught/developed through the cross-curricular learning in order for the pupils to be able to complete the IDL rich tasks with success which allows for personalisation and choice.
