Outreach Work

The Targeted Support Faculty, in conjunction with our GIRFEC partners, offer an Outreach service. The relevant Depute Head Teacher (Year Head) can refer a young person to this service in order to achieve a specific objective. This may include:

• Supporting a particular social, emotional or mental health (SEMH) need;
• Reintegration to St Machar Academy following an extended period of absence;
• Completion of a specific unit/piece of work.

The overarching principle of Outreach is the same as any other form of personalised support, which is to enable the young person to develop the self-confidence, resilience, and strategies to overcome the barrier and achieve / attain to their fullest potential.

Outreach may take place at a number of different locations, which include:

• St Machar Parent Support Project;
• Powis Community Centre;
• RACH;
• ASG Primary Schools.
