Learning Through Play
At Brimmond, we support play-based learning, where children are naturally motivated to play. By using play as a context for learning, we build on this motivation. The children can explore, experiment, discover and solve problems in an imaginative, playful way. A wide range of play opportunities is offered where children can engage in free flow play to develop against their own interest and develop mental targets.
Different areas in our nursery and their benefits include:
Sand and Water - develops hand eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Construction, Small World and Loose Parts - children create and act out their own narrative which encourages communication, language and cooperation.

Snug/Reading Corner - provides an area for quiet time and stories, encouraging language development and listening skills.
Role Play/House Corner - sparks imaginative thinking, promotes communication and language skills as well as developing self-confidence.

Interactive SMART Board - supports developing visual attention, language skills, hand eye coordination and encourages turn taking and sharing.
