Seventh Grade

Project Description: During these trying times, we need something to hope for, and we need to feel we are agents for a better tomorrow. Basically, we need a hero. We need to be heroes. Our project started off with this basic understanding as we started the school year. It turns out not just 7th grade has had a rough time readjusting: so has everybody. The people most impacted are perhaps the ones in Kindergarten. Most of their conscious life has been in pandemic times. When the question, “What does it mean to be Civilized?” is asked, there are two kinds of answers: a list of things that a society has to have in order to be considered a civilization, and the other answer is descriptors of how to behave in society. Our study answers both–sometimes separately, sometimes simultaneously. How do YOU see each answer coming up in different parts of our learning process?
