Project Description: Students learned about the concepts of needs and wants and discussed the function of consumer choices. They contextualized these understandings by thinking of the items they use (goods) to meet their daily needs and created a list of these items. From there, students worked in teams and focused on one good to research, with supplemental understandings of supply chains developed from virtual field trips. Students took what they learned to create a board game showing how natural resources and travel through production, and finally ending at a local business, public entity, or marketplace.
