Virtual Meetings

Google Meet is Google's virtual conferencing application. Have students join you for whole or small group sessions, or invite guest presenters into your Classroom via a Meet. Google Meet can also be used to record instructional sessions when students are not present.

**NOTE: This is the approved way to use breakout rooms with students.

Ensure your Google Meet opens in a new tab so students can access both the meeting and your class.

To allow participants back into a Meet when they have been removed or kicked out:

Go to the people tab in Meet and add the student there (head and shoulders icon).

Drop the link from the URL bar into your course for the student to click on. (Don’t use the nickname).
