Mary Beth Johnson, LCPC is a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) supporting military students and families in an advocacy/consulting/counseling role here at Meade High School. She is available 5 days a week to advocate for kids who have a parent or step-parent who are on active duty, or who have a parent who is recently separated from the military within the last 6 months, or whose parent(s) are reservists. MFLC services are free of charge and are meant to complement, support, and augment existing military programs that serve and support military members and their families. MFLCs do not report or record any personal identifying information. Counselors provide support on a variety of topics including but not limited to:
Children and youth
Communication
Coping with separation
Deployment and reintegration

Marriage and relationships
MFLCs maintain confidentiality but are obligated to report cases where there is a potential danger of someone being hurt or criminal behavior or intent.
It is important to know-- without a signed release from a parent, Mrs. Johnson cannot meet with students for services. If you feel your military-affiliated child might benefit from meeting with Mrs. Johnson, please encourage return of the appropriate release (see link.)
